Class Description
Salem is a potter from California, who has been honing his craft since his early years at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, pouring his heart into every piece he creates. Now living in Tugun, Gold Coast, he brings his unique artistic vision and creative passion to the local community. As a teacher, he shares his deep love for pottery with others, fostering a caring and supportive environment where students can grow and express their own artistic talents.
This course is for students of all levels who want to learn how to use the potter's wheel. This class focuses on throwing fundamentals for beginners and more advanced techniques for experienced students. Instruction will also cover the fundamentals of glazing and surface design. Along with weekly demos, the instructor will work one on one with students to help with their projects.
Inclusions: Price includes $50 materials fee to cover the cost of clay, glaze and firing services. In order to reduce our studio’s environmental impact, all courses include 7kg of reclaim clay and one flat rate firing and glaze fee. All other clay bodies are still available for purchase in the studio. All students must have their own tools. Starter tool kits can be purchased on the first day of class at the studio for $25/kit (plus GST).
